about diversion, as well as decision making and search for identity. The swords are plugged in stones, which reminds us of the king Arthur saga, which is essentially all about choices.
Often, there are paths, opportunities, decisions, or any opposite principles we must choose from, without knowing the outcome at first. The serpents, cycling the stones are guarding two principles, which are basically the same, but seem to be absolute opposites. The chessboards indicate, that duality may be just a game. Most of the time, it is not essential, which side we play, if we don’t refuse to play at all.
Every choice and decision leads to experience, which must be underwent either way. The two principles seem to oppose each other, but only the dual ankle and our different worldviews makes them contradict each other. Both, the symbol of infinity and the ouroboros are a clue to the simple fact, that in every decision the opposite is already contained and fulfilled simultaneously. The cosmos seeks equilibrium, so every decision has consequences on the scale of self as of the whole. No such choice is right, nor wrong. Simply doing nothing wouldn’t be wise at this point, since that’s the only path which leads to nothing. „Nothing“ in this context means a repetition of the cycle, we’re in already. Choices can be delayed, but not lifted from the face of the earth.
This abstract concept can best be described, as an infinite „To Do List“. We can push up other tasks, but not eliminate uncomfortable problems, by closing our eyes on them. But yes, with every such decision the paths divide eventually. As above so below, we experience this division of unity every day – it cannot and shouldn’t be avoided.
Some philosophies would even regard this entanglement into repeating circles as a cardinal sin. Only decisions carry us onwards and shape us into those, who we truly are. If we are not able to make a move, the environment, or an active player decides for us. Only then, we become a passive playing ball without free will – a pawn instead of a king.
No one wants to be this meeple, yet pawns are the most common figures in this chess of life. Free will, and the choices which originate from this gift must not regarded as a burden. Every problem which is to be resolved provides the opportunity to experience and transcend the dual concept as a whole. The search for equilibrium is an adventure into a series of difficult decisions, which have to be risked. The reward is tremendous. We are about to gain a deeper understanding of our consciousness and the cosmos as a whole.

Two of Swords „the search for equilibrium in duality“ symbolsdecision making, search for identity, the game of division and opposites expressionChokmah through Yetzirah archetypeJanus, chess playing gods (god vs. devil, good vs. evil, death vs. men) elementair The Two of Swords Tarot card is about diversion, as well as decision making and search for identity.
